With over 20 years of experience, Telefunka is now part of the history of electronic music in Latin America. The duo, originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, has remained relevant thanks to a vibrant and entertaining live act, where they blend electroacoustic instruments—such as saxophone, guitar, and synthesizers—with electronic elements. Their sound is defined by a fusion of genres with electronic music, including rock, house, techno, and jazz.
Brothers Giancarlo and Aldo Fragoso brought Telefunka to life in 2002, combining their creative vision in a project that quickly stood out for its originality. Throughout its career, the band has also featured talented musicians such as violinist Daniel Padilla and keyboardist John Zohlo, who contributed new sonic dimensions.
Over the years, they have released five studio albums and one live video:
- Electrodoméstico (2003)
- Electrosinfónico (Live Video) (2004)
- Cassette (2005)
- Invisible (2011)
- Eureka (2014)
- Discothèque (2020)
Telefunka has collaborated in the studio with prominent artists such as Gustavo Cerati on Electroshock and Adrián Dárgelos of Babasónicos on Tu Universo. They have also performed at international festivals such as Vive Latino, Creamfields, and Rock al Parque, and have shared the stage with world-class acts like Daft Punk, Massive Attack, and The Chemical Brothers. They were nominated by MTV Latin America as Best Independent Artist.
Currently, the duo is based in Barcelona, a city they moved to in order to expand their project into new territories and enrich their artistic development in an international environment. They have remained active, performing at venues such as Sala Apolo, Razzmatazz, and La Nau in Barcelona, as well as Sala Caracol and Plaza Mayor in Madrid.
