BIO
Sax&Toys is one of the personal projects of Giancarlo Fragoso, musician and founder of Telefunka, in which he reinterprets songs from the band along with instrumental versions of timeless classics—all with a joyful, laid-back vibe and chillout undertones.
In his performances, Giancarlo delivers a unique show, using a creative setup that features the saxophone, aerophone, theremin, and a collection of children’s toys, which he transforms into melodies and rhythms to create an immersive soundscape.
Before founding Telefunka, Giancarlo was a member of bands such as La Dosis and Grand Mama, and collaborated as a guest musician with renowned artists like La Lupita, Calle 13, and Café Tacvba. With Telefunka, he has shared the stage with legendary acts such as Daft Punk, Deep Dish, Massive Attack, and Gustavo Cerati, among others.
In 2018, the Fragoso brothers relocated from Guadalajara, Mexico, to Barcelona, Spain, a move that marked the birth of this solo project, which quickly became a standout option for corporate and social events.
Currently, Giancarlo tours between Europe and the Americas, performing in Mexico with Álix Ceant, a well-known percussionist from the Guadalajara scene, who adds an extra rhythmic layer to the live shows.
